The AJ Bell Great North Run is the World’s biggest and best half marathon and famous for its warm North East welcome, unbeatable atmosphere and the millions raised for good causes each year.

The 2026 AJ Bell Great North Run will take place on Sunday 13th September 2026 and runners can now enter the ballot to be on the famous start line next year.

Enter The 2026 Ballot

The September Ballot opens on Wednesday 3rd September at 8am and runs until midnight on Sunday 14th September, when applications will close. All applicants will receive an email with the result of the ballot entry by Tuesday 16th September.  Anyone who is unsuccessful with their September Ballot application can try again in the January Ballot, or can enter with a charity place.
