My Story


In 2020 at age 49 I was diagnosed with stage 2 HER2 Pos Breast Cancer. My life was turned upside down and I battled through 20 months of chemo surgery snd radiotherapy. I have been in remission for 3 years and I count my blessings every day that I can continue to enjoy my life & watch my adult children build their futures which sadly my own mum was unable to do as she lost her fight to BC at age 46 years. My friend and I plan to run as a pair of boobs to raise awareness and ensure the prevent messsge of early identification snd prevention is shared to as many women's as possible.

60,000 determined and dedicated runners make the AJ Bell Great North Run the World’s biggest and best half marathon – famous for its warm North East welcome, unbeatable atmosphere and the millions raised for good causes. 

The AJ Bell Great North Run is an opportunity for us all to come together on the 7th September and support one another. Its magic can be hard to understand – until you have experienced it yourself. You’re guaranteed a running event like no other - and a finish line feeling you’ll never forget.

It's not all about the adults, the AJ Bell Junior & Mini Great North Run gives the kids a chance to experience that finish line feeling, earn a special medal & raise money for good causes.
