This year, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to take on the Great North Run — my first-ever race — and I’m doing it for an amazing cause: Bright Charity.
Bright Charity is part of the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust and provides vital support for staff, patients, and their families. Having joined NHCT in 2017, I’ve seen first-hand the incredible impact this charity has on those it helps — from improving patient care to supporting the amazing staff who work so hard every day.
I’ll be honest… running and I have a bit of a love-hate relationship. Some days, I feel like I could keep going forever; other days, I wonder why I ever laced up my trainers in the first place. But this time, there’s something bigger pushing me forward — the chance to give back to a cause that’s so close to my heart.
As this is my first-ever race and my first time fundraising, I’m hoping to raise £200 to support Bright Charity’s amazing efforts. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference — and I’d be incredibly grateful for your support.
Thank you so much for believing in me and in this fantastic cause. If you can’t donate, sharing my page would mean the world too.
Here’s to crossing that finish line — and making every mile count!
Here is some more about the Bright charity:
We are Bright - the official charity of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Since we formed in 1998, our goal has been to add a bit of brightness to patients, staff, and our local communities in Northumberland and North Tyneside.
We do this by:
Purchasing specialist equipment
Funding staff training opportunities
Refurbishing rooms in our hospitals
Creating art exhibitions to boost mental wellbeing
Our projects enhance services in Northumbria Healthcare, which without your generous donations would not be possible.
Our communities are at the heart of everything we do.
