George and Dave's GNR 2025
My Story
This year is especially meaningful as it marks 10 years since George and his wife went through an ectopic pregnancy, an experience that changed their lives forever. To honour that journey, and to help others going through the same, we’re taking on the iconic Great North Run - not just for the challenge, but for a cause that matters deeply.
Ectopic pregnancy affects 1 in 80 pregnancies and is the leading cause of death in early pregnancy. It’s something far too many families face, often without even knowing what it is until it happens. That’s why we’re lacing up our runners to raise both awareness and vital funds for The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust, a charity that provides life-saving information and much-needed support.
We’ll be training hard and running every mile with purpose, but we can’t do this without you. Every pound raised will help save lives and make sure no one has to face ectopic pregnancy alone.
So please, if you can, donate, share our page, or give us a big cheer along the way. Together, we can turn every step into something powerful.
A bit about The EPT:
The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust strives to provide information, education and support to those affected by early pregnancy complications and to the health professionals who care for them. Ectopic pregnancy is a common, life-threatening condition that is the leading cause of maternal death in the first trimester of early pregnancy, The condition affects around 1 in 80 pregnancies in the UK and occurs when an embryo grows outside the womb. The EPT believes that the deaths and trauma associated with ectopic pregnancy should be prevented. We seek to relieve the distress associated with the experience and provide ongoing support through their treatment and beyond.
