My Story
When I lost my younger brother earlier this year, I also lost a friend, a gym partner and the person who taught me that any challenge could be overcome with enough determination and the right pair of trainers.
Despite his love for fitness and his outwardly confident persona at the gym, he battled silently with his mental health. His collection of trainers grew as he tried to outrun his demons - each new pair representing a fresh start.
That's why I'm running the Great North Run for YoungMinds - to honour his memory and to help ensure other young people get the mental health support they desperately need.
My brother always believed physical strength should be matched with mental strength. By fundraising for YoungMinds, I hope to continue his legacy, turning grief into positive action that might prevent other families from experiencing the same heartbreak.
Your donation helps provide crucial mental health services to young people in crisis - young people just like my brother, who might appear strong on the outside but are fighting battles within. Together, we can create the change my brother would have wanted to see.
