My Story
We are fundraising for Smart Works Newcastle because we believe every woman deserves the confidence to reach her full potential. Smart Works provides professional clothing, coaching, and support to unemployed women, helping them feel empowered and prepared for job interviews.
The transformation in just one appointment can be life-changing – and we want to help make that possible for more women in our community. Every pound raised directly supports women across the North East on their journey back to work and independence.
Last year, we started thinking about what challenge we could set ourselves, and after lots of discussion, we settled on the Great North Run. What seemed like a good idea at the time is now very real – and with just 10 weeks to go, we’re fully at the mercy of our training plans!
We’re really looking forward to the big day, but most importantly, we’re excited to be raising money for a cause we truly believe in. Lisa and Emma hope speedy Dan doesn’t have to wait too long for them at the finish line!
