My Story

Update: Thank you everyone for your support! I crossed the line in 2:05:53 - roughly in line with expectations. All five of the u3a team finished the race in good shape. It was tough, but a brilliant atmosphere and a marvellous experience.

Hello! I'm running as part of Team u3a at The Great North Run - a team of five people. u3a has been a marvellous part of my retirement - I've made many new friends in Chorleywood. 
 
I will be raising money for The Third Age Trust, the organization which supports around 1,000 u3as across the UK.  u3a believes that learning can be life-changing. When members join u3a, they become part of a community – and through sharing their interests, they create new friendships.
  
The money I am helping to raise will go towards creating more learning and social opportunities for u3a members. It will help The Third Age Trust support existing u3as and facilitate the creation of new u3as in areas where they do not currently exist – ensuring that everyone has access to a u3a. Together, we can reduce loneliness.
