My Story
Hi All
I am running the Great North Run on the 7th of September in support of the Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle.
In 2018 at the age of 7 my daughter Izzy was diagnosed with Juvenile Idopathic Arthritis and Uveitis. Izzy has a fairly severe form of this condition but still manages to battle through the pain and discomfort at all times. Izzy has damage to one of her ankle joints from the arthritis and the uveitis has caused issues with her sight. It can cause permanent loss of sight if not treated. Izzy amazes me everyday with how strong and brave she is.
Izzy has to attend the Great North Childrens hospital every 4 weeks for infusion treatment and takes medications daily. The hospital staff are extremely supportive of Izzy, always contactable for medical advice and immediate medical treatment when her conditions deteriorate or she has a flare up of the Arthritis and or Uveitis.
The hospital staff are amazing with Izzy and always put her needs first and should be commended for thier professionalism, diligence and caring persona's.
I am taking on the challenge to help raise funds for this amazing cause. I have never done anything like this before, but I want to show my support and show Izzy how in awe I am of her.
Any contribution that you can give to this worthy cause would be very much appreciated.
Thank you Suzi x
