My Story

About us

I’m taking on the Great North Run for the second year in a row in support of the Red Sky Foundation, a charity I’ve proudly raised money for over the years and one that means so much to me. After losing both of my parents to cardiac arrest, and seeing my Uncle Pardy survive a heart attack and undergo a triple heart bypass, I know just how important their work is. Red Sky Foundation places defibrillators in communities, provides CPR training in schools and workplaces, and supplies lifesaving heart equipment to hospitals to help patients when they need it most. Running this race is my way of honouring my family and continuing to support a cause that’s truly saving lives every day.

60,000 determined and dedicated runners make the AJ Bell Great North Run the World’s biggest and best half marathon – famous for its warm North East welcome, unbeatable atmosphere and the millions raised for good causes.

The AJ Bell Great North Run is an opportunity for us all to come together on the 7th September and support one another. Its magic can be hard to understand – until you have experienced it yourself. You’re guaranteed a running event like no other - and a finish line feeling you’ll never forget.

It's not all about the adults, the AJ Bell Junior & Mini Great North Run gives the kids a chance to experience that finish line feeling, earn a special medal & raise money for good causes.
