Ripon Community Link (RCL) supports over 60 individuals ( our Members) with mild and moderate learning disabilities, some of whom also have physical disability. Services operate from Ripon Walled Garden, we offer diverse, innovative opportunities to so our Members can grow and reach their potential.
Every Member is assessed and supported to make decisions to access a bespoke programme that supports their individual needs in a caring, nurturing, healthy environment.
At Ripon Walled Garden, a beautiful 4-acre site with Victorian Orchard, Woodland and Historic Walled Garden, we offer work based practical experiences in horticulture, retail and catering. Members can choose to work in the garden, participating in all activities from growing fruit and vegetables which we then pass to the onsite kitchen, offering catering opportunities to Members, to make produce to sell, jams, chutneys, cakes, not forgetting Apple Juice produced to sell locally supporting financial resilience.
Community Integration is key and underpins all activities, our Values are Kindness, Individuality and Excellence. We aim to overcome barriers to disability by ensuring our Members are part of and actively contribute to the local community and society.
We also offer a comprehensive timetable of activities including classroom-based art and crafts, singing, drama, numeracy, literacy, independent living activities, health and wellbeing, visiting off site swimming and sports. We run a coffee morning, and participate in local themed events and our drama and Sing and Sign Groups regularly perform in the community.
